This inspection was carried out under the new Ofsted Framework, introduced in January 2026. Under this framework, schools no longer receive a single overall judgement. Instead, schools are assessed across a range of areas, with outcomes presented on a new Report Card. Safeguarding remains the only area judged separately and is graded as either ‘Met’ or ‘Not Met’.
We are pleased to share that safeguarding was judged as ‘Met’, and Locking was recognised as ‘Strong’ in four areas and at the ‘Expected Standard’ in three area. Ofsted describes the Expected Standard as a high benchmark, so these outcomes are a tremendous achievement and something our entire community can be proud of.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, governors and our wider ELAN team, whose hard work and commitment have helped make this achievement possible over the last four years.
Most importantly, we would like to thank our wonderful pupils. They impressed inspectors with their kindness, enthusiasm and excellent attitudes, and they should be immensely proud of themselves.
Finally, thank you to you, our parents and carers. Your support, encouragement and partnership play a vital role in our school’s success. We are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us and for all that you do to support your children and our school family!
Together, we have much to celebrate, and we hope you feel as proud of this report as we do.
Watch this space for some further ways we're celebrating!
