Our new garden has proved very popular, we have observed lots of positive play and interactions between children whilst exploring the space and resources. We continue to model and embed routines and expectations throughout our day, ensuring the children feel safe, valued and heard.

Learning our timestables is so important for our maths skills but who said it can't be fun too?! When pupils in either Year 4 class play any game on TTRS between 3.15 and 9pm from 28th September, they will earn points for their class. The class with the highest number of points by the end of the week wins!
We bet they'll be a small prize too 🍬
Please encourage your child to get involved. We ask for children to play TTRS for 15 minutes a week at home anyway but winning the first battle of the year will hopefully give extra impetus to playing this coming week!

They have mixed sand and water together with scoops, jugs and their hands to feel the textures. They have been learning Maths whilst jumping through hoops and throwing bean bags into buckets, counting each one as the go.

Football was the sport for the opening session and there was some hot competition! Our team worked brilliantly together though, communicating effectively and subbing on and off like pros so everyone had their equally turn on the pitch - well done boys! We are proud of you 🥰

We speak to the children regularly about road safety and keeping safe when crossing the road. You can help us to ensure children have a happy and safe journey into school each morning by considering one of the following:
🟠Walking wherever possible
🟡Not only is this a healthy way to get some exercise, but it supports the local community with congestion. In addition, it is much better for the environment.
🟢Cycling or scooting: We have plenty of spaces to lock a bicycle or scooter inside the school gates. We have a new scooter store arriving in the coming weeks for the Spinney entrance. Watch this space!
🔵Parking responsibly in and around the streets and when using the Locking Parish Carpark (top carpark). Please do not park on pavements. Children and families walking into school are being put at risk.
Our only concern is to create a safer environment for our children as they arrive at and leave school. We will be working with our local PCSO’s to support us with this in the coming weeks.

This week we are very excited as 4 members of the class, who have been consistently following our school expectations, will be bringing home one of our class teddies for a weekend sleepover, as a treat for being a role model for that particular expectation.
Please say a big hello to Roger Ready, Sally Safe, Rebecca Resilient and Rory Respectful! They have been sat pride of place in the classroom, watching the children and helping us to learn and play together. Please don't worry parents and carers, all children in the class will get to take a teddy home across the year.
The children and class teachers have had lots of discussions in preparation for this, about the importance of being resilient if it isn't their turn just yet! Let the sleepovers begin!
