See our FacebookSome explored corn flour and conditioner mixed together, but the texture was to dry so we added a small amount of sand and water to make a gloop texture, they noticed how firm it was to pick up but turned watery once in their hands. To start with some of the children weren't sure about the feel but with adult support and modelling they soon loved it, watching the way it moved.
We have also been looking at push along vehicles, the children had races with monster trucks starting at the start line, pushing them and letting go, watching them go across the finished line on their own. To move their learning on we added a ramp in the middle where they noticed, the harder they pushed the more the wheels lifted off the floor.
We have also enjoyed watching pancakes being made then adding their own toppings. They choose, syrup, lemon juice and bananas. Hannah then read them a story about the Mr Men on pancake day.

We're in the processing of creating a sand pit which can be used during OPAL play. We are looking for compost to fill the tyres. Our aim is to weight the tyres and be able to plant in them also.
Can you help? Do you know someone who can?
Please do get in touch - we'd love to talk!

Rowan class watched a video about keeping safe online. This led into a big discussion about gaming and staying safe online. As a class we discussed the implications of playing games that were certified older than our age. We talked about what we should be doing online. Rowan class were brilliant at discussing what we should and shouldn't do:
❌Don't give your name, address, school
❌Don't talk to someone or add someone you don't know
❌Don't send photos or speak to someone you don't know
❌Don't agree to meet someone
Rowan class were able to say if this happened, they would tell an adult. Finally, we discussed what AI meant and what devices in our household used AI. We then designed our own AI device. Please talk to your child at home about being safe online.
