Our children are challenged and encouraged by excellent staff who aim to provide an extraordinary education for every child, regardless of ability or background. We prepare pupils for the next stage of their education and work closely with all local secondary schools, building strong relationships over many years.

As part of the Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN), we collaborate with other schools to share expertise and broaden opportunities. This means our pupils enjoy access to large-scale sports, cultural, and arts events, and our teachers continually develop their skills in subjects such as art, music, and PE.

Our bespoke curriculum is ambitious yet accessible, designed to spark curiosity and resilience. We provide rich, first-hand learning experiences that take children beyond the everyday, helping them become independent, creative, and critical thinkers.

A Strong Sense of Belonging

Community is at the heart of Locking Primary. Our PTA, Friends of Locking School (FOLS), works tirelessly to organise events such as the summer fair and fireworks night—bringing families together and strengthening ties with the wider community. Many former pupils return to these events, proud of their Locking heritage.

Children also learn beyond the classroom, engaging with the local community to understand how positive connections work. They leave us with confidence, a sense of belonging, and the skills to make thoughtful decisions.

Modern Facilities with Traditional Values

Education in Locking dates back to the 1800s, and while our school retains the charm of a traditional village school, we embrace innovation. Recently, we were selected by the Department for Education as one of the first recipients of the Connect the Classroom programme, upgrading our IT infrastructure to provide reliable, high-speed internet and modern learning tools.
